Been discussing installing my ECU datascan into the TV screen carriage mechanism with a local firm, but, they've never worked on a 350GT before. Anything special to be aware of?
Plan is to in remove all the old TV screen and Sat nav system and then mount the ECU datascan in the carriage so it can be stowed away when not in use, and hook it up to the existing BOSE stereo so i can play some tunes through it.

howdy folks,

just had a visit from Derby Traffic police in regards to my cars.

basically I saw someone looking around my car, so I darted outside to see a traffic officer shining a torch down the exhaust of one of my cars. I went up to him and said "whats up ? "

to cut a long story short, i've been told there has been several complaints about the noise of my cars and that if I am caught driving one of them (my grey R32 GTR) as that is a straight through exhaust with no silencer section, that I am contravening regulation 54 of the Road & Vehicle Act 1986 under the section of construction and use, that I will be facing fines of THOUSANDS.
originally he did say that they would take my car away from me, but I argued that he couldn't do that, he spoke to someone at his office and they agreed, but they can do me for mega fines instead as its against "construction and use" and should have a silencer section fitted.

ironically, my silver R32, which is louder (also bigger pipework for the exhaust and has external wastegate and dump-pipe) as it does have a silencer section, they can't touch me for it.

now the officer was a nice enough guy and has said he wont put a marker on my car just yet as to give me time to silence the car (i'm thinking an ECV valve) but I wondered if anyone could offer any advice.

what ticks me off is, I know these cars are loud, and I know they can antagonise some people, but im 30+ years old, when I do start my car, I creep off my estate at no more than 1800rpm, go round the corner to an industrial estate just off our estate and allow the car to warm up there, same when coming home, I drive off boost for the last 3 miles and only leave the car to tick over for 30 seconds.

they need to be 90 degree really as you can't get the the valve very well if they are straight

i need to get the tyres on this weekend so i'm hoping to go to fowlers or some other motorbike store as they seem to be the only ones that do 90 degree valves.

unless someone knows somewhere in bristol i can buy ones specifically for cars alloys
