Where to tap on constant 12V behind dash?

I need to wire up a few gauges requiring a constant 12v source on my R33.
Do you know if there's anywhere I can tap from? All the wires I've tested get 12v when ignition is switched to pos 1,2,3 etc...

There should be a constant 12v on the stereo wiring loom otherwise your stereo would loose it's memory/pre-sets every time you turned the car off... I'm not 100% on this but the power's usually the yellow cable on an aftermarket stereo loom.

Another place to get it is from the hazzard light switch on the dash as there's a constant live going to that too

There is a constant 12 volt feed on the stereo - on an after market stereo it'll be a red or a yellow cable depending on what make it is. Link into the ISO cable (the packet will tell you the colours and feeds of the cables). You can always use the live feed from the clock that has a 12 volt feed as well as a light feed so if you want a colour change on your gauges when you put on your lights its a good place to take it from. In the worst case - run a cable from the battery but remember to put a fuse in line. Solider all connections too as you don't want an earth leak.

You will get a igniton switched live from the radio and a perm live which maintains memory for the radio. If you dont want to do that, get one straight from the battery with a lugged and fused wire!

Yes mate thanks, I got power from the warning light switch in the end.
I left the head unit cabling as it is.
