What to spend £2000 on?

I have been asked to modify a friends GTS-T and have so far installed an APEXI power fc + commander and boost control kit and a greddy intercooler. The rest is standard. She is looking for around 300bhp at the wheels and has a budget of a further £2000 to spend on parts this year. What would you suggest I spend her money on? I'm guessing a bigger turbo and manifold but the HKS stuff seems very expensive. Is there not a garrett alternative?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Exhaust? Air filter?

I'd look at handling - suspension.

0.8mm sparks, turbo elbow, downpipe, exhaust, filter, decat, fitted should see you just shy of a grand..then sort the brakes (pads at least, the standards aren't upto much on mine running about 265bhp)

next.. maybe
Z32 AFM i think thats sposed to max out at about 320bhp

All these sort of things are needed first or it'll just stifle the power from a bigger turbo or blow the crap out of weak standard parts

for 300ATW you could get the standard turbo rebuilt with steel internals and up the boost to 1bar

And keep a look out for a used HKS 2535 or a 2530 (smaller). They'll easily see what kind of power she wants, bolts up to the standard manifold and downpipe with the turbo elbow, and even the inlet pipework fits. The only thing needed after that is the oil/water lines but you can get them down cheap enough by www.Thinkauto.co.uk.

Bigger injectors: www.deatschwerks.com

Z32 AFM: Keep an eye out on ebay, or on here. I've seen a couple up for sale recently.

Then it's just the plugs etc which are easy enough to get hold of.

Rebuilt Turbo
Injectors
Fuel Pump Z32 AFM

Should be good for 360-380.

if you fit the parts yourself then maybe for £2000 but thats 380/400 bhp to get that at wheels.so injectors£280,fuel pump£90,turbo elbow£90,downpipe£100,clutch £200,afm£100,sparkplugs£60,remap £300+,you may want some coilpacks as well £290.so just over £1200 without coilpacks or near £1500 with then you need to fit them all and its not going to amount to £500 if you get someone else to fit them.then really you wont want standard brakes or Suspension.
p.s price if you find secondhand parts or really cheap stuff.

To get 361hp atw on my car has cost about £6k and thats with some secondhand parts

ie Z32 , GTR pump, intercooler.

The rest i bought new, but i darent add it all up TBH

For 2k I would fit a clutch, elbow, downpipe, exhaust and induction kit. Spend the rest on brakes and suspension. That would give about 330hp ATF and be a nice usuable car

For a new owner, this is the most useful thread I have seen yet.

Now all I need is for an expert to let me come to their workshop and help me put all the things on. Well apart from the clutch - my days of lifting gearboxes are over...... Once spent a day putting a 2000E Mark3 box into a Mk2 Cortina with only a spoon and some lolly sticks for tools. Shows my age eh?

Already collecting links for all the bits you guys are talking about. Thanks very much.

now as he already has a fmic, pfc, boost controller which are the three most expensive parts.if he put everything on himself he could do it but it would take awhile to find all the parts and fit them.
bare in mind i think rising sun is about 5.5k-7k for 400bhp and abby are 8.5k+.
i also forgot that you would need a headgasket and turbo as well so £300-£1400 for turbo and £200 for headgasket and again if you fit it yourself.
you do find turbos that have been rebuild with steel blades/sharfts with history for £450/500 and universal turbos are around £750/800 to rebuild your one and it takes two weeks i think.
