Anybody looking at this thread it will be a good one to follow! Andy is a very hard working guy who is meticulous in everything he does, a perfectionist to detail and he does everything properly (you wont see no half arsed attempts from this guy!) His car is one of the cleanest 33 gtr's i've seen and thats before he has put his hands to it! once this car is done it will be immaculate!!! bearing in mind he has 18 months worth of car polish and wax to use haha.

Good start to the thread mate and i look forward to the conclusion of it

gotta be seriously winding you up now kowing that its nearly done but you cant have it yet.
Hi matey, thanks very much! Yeah we did have a slight delay. After a review of the progress we had made, the parts we were using, and the expected figures, even though its not done many miles and the clutch had some meat on it, it was explained that the clamping pressure of the stock clutch just would not cope with the torque and the clutch would be toast in a matter of months.

I did not budget for a new clutch initially, but as the parts list was updated and expected torque and possible future torque figures increased, and especially as the engine is being built for a good balance of power and reliability, thought i may as well get one in there now while its apart and save on the labour later. Pics of this will follow

While we waited for the block to come back from the machine shop, the tomie sump baffle was added

Head now the right way round and started to be built back up

Cams in...

Skyline hover kit installed, custom kit from the people who developed it for the back to the future car, on the road to 8 feet in the air in 3 secconds at the press of a button, think this was a very worth while mod as it will be great for gettting over speed bumps at high speed, and for "over" taking other cars when there are cars coming the other way and the conventional method of going round them is to dangerous.

Picture taken during testing of the Hover kit

Decided to have a bit of an under car inspection...

Time to start thinking about a clutch as i didnt budget for one initially as i said above, but as the parts list increased and expected and potential torque figures increased, even though my stock unit had pleanty of meat left, the clamping pressure woud just not be able to transfer the torque and with using the power that it should have, the stock unit would be toast in months.

This was a sinsible thing to do now as it was in bits and i would save on the labour to fit it, and i would need it if i was going to qualify the reliability aspect, especially as the engine will be capable of delivering more power safely that it will have when it is back on the road for the first time, and now with the clutch done, i dont have to worry about that later and if / when i want to take the power further in the future after i am used to it, it will just be a case of afms, fueling and mapping mainly.

So after a bit of research an Exedy stage 2 paddle arrived, and i was on beans on toast and noodles for the rest of that month!
