Does it prime when you switch on ignition?

If it does that fine, then the PFC might be having problems reading your CAS or something. It should give the FP the signal to run, when the PFC sees engine revs (i.e. whilst cranking and running). If the CAS signal is not being read properly the PFC might see revs/no revs/revs/no revs, etc and turning FP on off in tune. If that makes sense.

the fuel pump does prime, but the commander stays on apexi sign and does nothing else and the relay just clicks like mad

the apexi sign staying on the commander is not a good sign..... can you check the part numbers for the actual power fc and commander? 100% for your car?

So FP relay starts clicking before you even try to start engine?

I agree with Smore, apexi sign is not good.

Do you know anyone with a PFC that can install your PFC into their car, just to ensure all wiring is correct?

I had the same problem with my r32 when I put a rb25 loom into it.
You have'nt all the power wires conected right.
Think it was a wire coming off the one of the relays next to the ecu.

With the standard ecu in ,when you turn off ignition you should hear a "click" 1-2 seconds after turning the key off. If that's not happening you're wiring trough the relay isnt right.

checked codes and they are correct it was one were you get the commander and ecu in the same box version 3

the click tour talking about is the eccs relay, yes ?
if the wiring was wrong then surely the standard ecu would not work ?

just had another check, the relay clicks when you turn the ignition on, BUT the fuel pump does not prime then stop as it should, it just goes and goes and does not stop ?

hey Richy
I had a quick google search online and found a thread from a chap with a 180sx. he had a similar problem and got it sorted by grounding the eccs relay as it needs a ground to stay active so to speak. heres the link:

http://www.northwestnissans.com/boar...d.php?t=100642

however I found another thread here. This chap needed to swap the pins from the pfc to the fuel pump relay as it needed to be grounded I think. I'm not sure I'm typing that right as I'm riddled with flu today but have a read of this link mate. if nowt else they should give you things to try out

http://zilvia.net/f/tech-talk/276819...stock-ecu.html

post #20 from the 2nd link:

so seperated the signal wire from the ecu to the pump relay. grounded it at the relay, car fired right up. doing the idle learn as we speak
set it to 50% injector and .12ms for my tomei 740s
vg30 mafs
we will see how it goes, also, should the 02 reading be turned off on the pfc, heard it can be kind of a hindrance, boost controll is turned off

I had the same problem as I said
The fuel pump + engine worked ok with the oem ecu
But when I plugged the pfc in the pump relay started clicking + car wouldn't start.
I wired the pump up direct from battery + the car still wouldn't start.

The problem is the way the eccs relay was wired ,the pfc needs all 3 12v power supplies.

Does the eccs relay switch off 1-2 seconds after you turn the key off ?

hey cooldrft did you look at those forums I linked to? Seems ppl are disconnecting the signal wire from the ecu to the fuel pump relay then grounding the relay. I spoke to richy about this earlier but we were both a bit unsure how to go about doing it.

I cut the wire coming from the ecu + grounded the wire going to the pump to the body.
The reason I did it was the pump wasn't drawing 12v.

I'd sort the eccs problem first + take it from there.
