Apexi Air filter cleaning
Searched loads and got no definitive answers. Been led to believe now that replacement filters can't be bought and would rather clean my filter and save the money. How can this be done safely??

me and a guy off here (sorry, forgot your name mate!) done this a few weeks back,we just took the filter off and put them in a bucket of soapy water! the amount of crap that came out was amazing! i dont think this is the recommended way of cleaning the filter but its working fine at the moment!

'Roadrunner' Did this and I did it today as well, left in a bucket for a while then rinsed it, it's now drying before it goes back on the car. The filter hasn't come up as bright as I'd hoped but the water it was soaking in was black and there was loads of crap left in the bottom of the bucket so it must have done some good!

Nobody tried hoovering it? Thats what I was planning. I would think paper would disintegrate in water, but maybe its special paper.

Sure thats where I bought mine from, but don't fancy paying that much for it every year.

Replacement filters are on Nengun for £39.34 delivered. When you think you spend x amount on servicing (oil, spark plugs etc etc) £40 isnt that much.

I know this is well over a year old but I'm considering giving my Apexi a good clean as it's never been done. Purely because I've no idea just how dirty it is.
With the cold air feed pipe, when it pisses it down, after a little time I can't hammer it as it sucks up water so I've no idea how many bits of dead insect are imbedded in it.
Though if you look at this article:
Filter test
It declares that the filter requires no mantenance....
So has anyone carried out the above? How did you do it?
