you could've gotten splitfires for that much! thats ridiculous. you should've gone for some 2nd hand ones. would've cost you around $300

theres www.nengun.com or www.justjap.com (justjap is located in aus but im sure they will post), otherwise i'd look in the for sale sections in some forums or if you've got a local tuner i'd look there first.

Ive been having these symptoms on and off since I have had the car, I have had the coilpacks out twice and taped it up and on the last occation I replaced the plugs with some NGK iridiums but the hesitastion has come back but only when the boost is put up to 0.9 so my conclusion on this is it is fine for the short term but if your coils are iffy it will eventually come back .

I have just ordered some splitfire coils from nengun at £250 delivered which I thought was not too bad.

Will post any improvements when new coils are fitted.

Cheers

Nick

they fixed the problem for me mate, and that is a good price, I paid that s/h... tho I think from reading the thread taping up is only ever gonna be temporary... a (semi)permanent fix would be araldite.

I've just had a look through some of the posts and I feel that the only lasting solution is to change the coil packs.

I spent too much time earlier this year tapeing and sealing and thought I had the coil pack fixed.

Just when I needed the car to go driving around Europe it let me down big time, I was well pissed off.

Got new genuine Nissan coil pack (part number 22448-AA100) and it cost me €167.70 and that included VAT and carriage.

I should have just gone and got the new one at the beginning and it would have saved me a lot of grief.

Hope this helps some of you.

this fix doesnt involve any taping or sealing, ive removed the tape and sealant off my coils after i sanded them and they're still running 100% after around 8 months.

the problem isnt the coils. the problem is the build-up of crap inside the coil pack preventing electrical current flowing down to the spark plug. so sanding them down will remove all this crap and provide a stronger contact between the coil pack and the spring inside the coil pack which transferrs the spark.

at the beginning of this thread i was experimenting with tape and sealant and it didnt work for long, then i eventually got the dremil out and sanded the inside, as explained in my other thread.

this thread was just for experimentation and am 100% sure that sanding the inside of the coils will work, and will save you alot of money.
if not, it may be an AFM issue.

Well finaally got round to fitting the splitfires and the difference was immeadately noticeable car runs much smoother and the misfire under boost has gone completely I would reccommend this to anyone who is having these symptoms and at £250 from Nengun reasonable price too .

Now I can give her beans and she just takes off rather than hesitates.
