mod the plenum ecr33

has anyone has the plenum modded so the throttle body is at the front?
I want to get this done and spoke to someone on here before who said they might be able to do the welding for me I just can't remember who it was.

the link doesn't work mate, but I am guessing you are pointing to a greddy plenum. I have seen 1 and it is the standard plenum with the throttle body cut from the side, that then blanked off and the body replaced at the front.

yeah i would love a greddy one but a bit too expensive for me (I wondered if a gtr one could be cut and welded to the lower part of a gtst one as well... got to be some money to be made there surely)

The only problem I think you would find with it is:

The standard plenum lay out is to suit all 6 cylinders and the throttle body is placed centrally in the plenum and thats how it was designed, my feelings are that if you chop and weld the throttle body to the front the rear cylinders wont get the same amount of air as the fronts and could potentially cause problems.

Just my thoughts though.

but, why would Greddy develop a potentially devastating plenum for the RB25?

they would'nt, the Greddy inlet is 100% not a standard inlet cut and re-welded. Im willing to lay money that the internal trumpets are completely differently designed to compensate for from mounted throttle body

Look at the way it curves around cylinders 5 and 6, thats probably to force the air in at a higher speed
