small electrical fires

Watching smoke and flames coming from under the bonnet is what grinds my gears...

Not a good start to the daily commute!

My mechanic had the gearbox out last week to change out the clutch slave cylinder. The starter motor cable wasnt fixed back in correctly, come free and sat on the exhaust. It melted and shorted in a rather impressive way!

Fortunately he came to the party and has covered the cost of the repair including recovery so im happy with the outcome.

A few pics for you.

Melted earth and buggered neg terminal on my yellowtop. This earth actually runs through the fusebox. So that was pulled and repairs made to the melted wires in there. Fortunately it was on 4 wires damaged.
