Diff ratio opinions? gts-t

Hello,
It's quiet on here these days, but still some good people posting I see....

Anyway on to the point, who runs or has run a 3.9:1 rear diff ratio? and at what torque/power level?
Did it ruin the acceleration or tame 1st & 2nd gear? did it make motorway cruising nicer or a pain making a drop to 4th to get good overtaking power?

And also relevant what size wheels tires?

I have true idea of my cars power, but 375-400 with great spool from the HY35 turbo, atm 5th gear from 70 on is just a blast on std manual gear 4.1:1 I think.
So your thoughts please.
Andrew.

built up new diff into my old casing and gears, with the traction of a good lsd decided to all the way back to auto gear ratio 4.4 or whatever and run bigger rear sidewalls to even it all up.
easy job, no hassle.
