R32 GTR headlamps

Hey everyone , I just got my R32 GTR last week and it is awesome. Only issue I’m having is the headlight output is horrible. If I researched correctly the Projector is H3c and the high beam is a H3.

I looked through the FAQ section and a few others and even searched on here. What bulbs would Be a good replacement to to give me better lighting at night. I’d like to go LED or HID but not sure what type to get. Thanks in advance.

I had a lot of issues with headlight upgrades for my R32. The H3C is even more complicated than the H1 bulbs my car has.

For what it's worth, because of the obnoxious ALMOST proprietary set up Nissan used, it left me with quite a few (expensive) options.

1: LeMans Spec HID kit, $1200 USD. Extremely high quality but also extremely expensive.

2: HID Retrofit from the retrofit source. $270 and up Good quality but a lot of work, also HID dont like being switched and R32 headlights turn off the low beam while turning on the high beam.

3: Organized Garage Status DOT approved headlights. Again, extremely nice (and required in some states such as Hawaii) but at 600 to 1100 USD it's a large amount of money.

4: Bulb mount conversion. This is the route I went. Nissan uses a strange set up with a proprietary mount in place, I went on Yahoo Auctions Japan and ordered myself a set of adaptors to mount a standard H1 bulb and then ordered a set of H1 LED bulbs. I would warn the headlight has to be modified to work with this set up, but in the end, cost me 20 USD for the adaptors shipped from Japan and 70 for the LED bulbs from Ledguys.net
