SO.com Paul Walker Memorial Road Trip 2014

I Had a very long chat with Keith today... As everyone knows about the tragic events that happened over the weekend with the Loss of Actor Paul Walker.

It has been decided to make a truly special event by Skylineowners.com as a mark of respect and a fitting tribute to Paul Walker.

Keith has asked me to arrange this amazing event.

We are aiming to accomplish this around June-August time 2014.

With everyone's support and commitment I think we can make this more prominent and bigger than Skyline Parade.

The idea is to circum-navigate the whole of the UK and Ireland in a massive relay using a specially designed baton to be transported through each area.

The route is something that will need to be planned to the last detail......

Initially starting at Lands End up from the Southwest towards South Wales then across to Ireland and around the Emerald Isle back to the Uk through from Wales on the left side of the UK up to Scotland then down towards the Eastern coasts and Southeast... with a view to meeting up at a central point in the UK..... Possibly the NEC in Birmingham with a special meet up and event staged there for Skyline national day.

The idea is also to collect for Paul Walker's charity (They will be contacted officially by SO.com) To send a donation by Skylineowners.com.
Paul Walker's charity is..... Reach Out WorldWide
This is a network of professionals with first responder skills, including doctors, nurses, firefighters, paramedics, construction specialists, heavy equipment operators, and other disaster-survival specialists, who understand that a fast response makes the difference between life and death. These professionals have put their "boots on the ground" domestically and worldwide, to immediately fulfill the unmet need in times of chaos, tragedy, and destruction.
A fitting cause no less..

Ok you get the idea....... Area Reps do you have any thoughts and suggestions on how we can get everyone together? Be it at a certain point to meet up to travel through your various areas and with your members who would like to join in. This being the case the various authorities will have to be contacted to make sure everything is above board and legal...... It's going to be a lot of hard work. The scale I think could be massive........

I am intending to do the whole trip in my R34 The time scale we think could be up to a week/week and half. Keith has also pledged to be with me as we travel round everyone is welcome to do the whole trip.... However even if we could just get guys to come and meet us and maybe convoy through your areas that would be fantastic......

I am setting a time scale of about a month to start thinking about things and the logistics. Once we have a plan in place it'll be full speed ahead.

Keith has suggested that all drivers/owners would be able to get T-shirts with the event name and their own names printed on the shirts.

We are trying to bring in everyone in on this as regards to international attendance.

Keith is going to contact our friends in the American Forums, International Areas, also New Zealand and Australia and let them know what we are intending to do......
The idea is to try and get similar events happening at a global level.... with a huge donation to Paul Walkers Charity ROWW

That's as far as it goes at the moment..... I hope that we can get some interest on this..... This will be a helluva a challenge but I'm looking forward to jumping in again ( I must be mad)

Hope you guys can give us some help and make something very special indeed.

Cheers for your time.....

hi rout looks good, but i would say it be worth it as the roads are really nice...
when in Breacon to go up to Builth Wells on the A470 then drop down onto Llandovery on the A483. (there are some really nice B roads in this area but a bit out of the way and some cars might find it hard to drive on so cant really use them so just stay on the main roads.)
Also
When in Haverfordwest take the road to St Davids, then take the old road to Fishgaurd. This road is a good road with fantastic views of the coast.
