Sadly mate BC has sold up and gone. Facebook has all but ruined the site sadly. Hopefully we can get it running once again as was great back in the day.

Not the same as it used to be

Plus a lot of the old owners have sold up and moved on to other cars...

Thanks, I appreciate it. 8 years project so far and more plans to do. I noticed so many skylines on the show and no even one owner to chat with except Gavin who I can always count on. Was thinking once to put them cars together inline or so in next japfest but no luck to contact with owners. So who was on the show from here?

Smile I was just having a wee nap

Well some like me just went into hibernation for a year or two!

The last time I had my skyline out was at the end of 2015 at a track day. A slight blowout in the exhaust before I went which I hadn't thought to worry about....then broke in half on the track at the decat, lesson learned. The speedo then stopped working and as I was having some understeer issues, I literally melted the 2 front tyres, goodyear eagle f1's in case your interested but to be honest I think they just aren't meant to take the abuse I was giving them!

So its been in the garage since until now I've got some new parts to fit:
japspeed flexible decat
whiteline front anti roll bar
toyo r888r front tyres

So hopefully that will sort the understeer but I'm lost so far with the speedo.

Anyway I wont get it out this year. The plan is to get it these problems fixed before xmas and I'll be happy. Then see if I can do some track days in 2018.

See attached pic, you know you are doing well when your car is up on bricks.....its so f...ing low I cant get under it otherwise!

its been a while since I was around also.. Having serious battles with car insurance companies since last year.. Last year they would not give a renewal quote until I went to Insurance Ireland. This year they just hiked up the price to push me out of the market (3780 euro, 1300 the previous year)

Could be the end and more than likely the reason other people have moved away..

Not sure how many is left from the original group.. Say something if you are still around..

Still remember the good old days John.. some fun .. that trip to Silverstone .. the journey, parade and track day.. once in a lifetime event..!

Hope to see you at some stage..

tell you the truth fintan i realy miss the buzz of driving something really special like the skyline but as you said its dam near impossible to insure a jap import let alone a skyline them insurers !!!! i wish we had the tax and insurance that's in the uk ,ide suppose the thing to do would be insure a family wagon and have a old r32 insured as a 5000 mile per year second car ,on the subaru site that's what some of the lads do with their classic wrx sti ,me personally i wouldnt go through all the hassle as i can see gtr32 are fetching a few quid now ,i seen one the other month and it was beautiful dark grey looked wider than i remember but was pristine . fintan do you have the video or any footage of us in the uk . lukegt i seen your car at japfest its a credit to you every little thing you did to the car i noticed and it was flawless ,i seen a gtr34 full interior going for sale on the web there a while ago for 5 k holy god
if i had a garage now would be the time to buy a r32 and pack it away for a few years

A lot of car related forums are very quiet these days, mostly down to social media sites, Farcebook in particular, shame but nothing much can be done until everyone gets fed up with the idiots and rip off artists.
