I finaly blew my skyline!

Its happened.
Finaly happened.

Of all the cars ive owned that could have gone rong and never did, this one decides enoughs enough.

Over heated it at the weekend, think the thermostat sensors shot as the expansion bottle was a pressure bomb and rad was pissing coolant, yet the fan never came on and the dash read normal????

****in head gaskets let go!

looks like its off the road for a few months, got a new engine being built any way but its still a bitch as all i can do is look at her!

oh well, more time 2 stripp and spray it! spilt milk and all that

Oh bugger. Never mind mate, it sounds like its gonna give you more time to get the rest of the car sorted better, which I guess is a good thing.

Have you found a suitable bonnet vent yet? I suppose you've got more time now to find a monster one to graft in.

bad luck mate - do you know the cause? blocked rad or bust hose? - would be nice to know the weak points, a couple of people on here jock and aha to name two have had overheating probs with serious consequences

it sounds like the stock temp sensors arent up to much grrrr

whats the spec of the new engine?

think its the termostat and the sensors as the expansion tank was ready to explode and the fans hadnt even come on!
theres no oil in the coolant and no residue in the oil, do a test with the fluid that changes colour and with coolant and it went green, means the head is gone/on its way out.
I sold the engine a few weeks ago so now i have to hope and pray the head hasnt warped, should be ok, didnt drive it after it happened.

the new engine is a whole new story!

having it built in australia 2 keep costs down,
semi forged pistons,
preeped rods,
straightened crank,
hks h/gasket!
oil cooler,
custom made rad,
hopefully up rated hoses,
head prot/polished,
block tapped and re-bored,
adjustable pullies,
power fc,
RB25 gear box,
Rb25 sump,
camber and poly bush kit,
rb25 afm's,
twin plate clutch,
RX7 550cc injectors,

will be capable of 400-450rwkw but will be running 300rwkw till the ceramic tubbys are ditched for steel's.

should be enough to get ya thinkin!
