Just come back from a local pub where there was a gathering of some rather nice cars. The likes of (in no particular order) MGBs, MGAs, Midgets, Cobras, Porsches, E-Types, 'really old wooden things with the horses missing at the front that I don't have a clue as to what they are', Ferraris, Monzas, Marcos, Ginettas etc. And a couple of TVRs.
I went over to the newest TVR, a Tuscan, and being in a bit of a cheeky mood at the moment thought should I ask him if it's broken down yet to hear someone ask 'how long you had it?', 'three weeks, but it's been in the garage for one of them', 'Oh, why?', 'it overheated because of the fan not kicking in, the reversing light didn't work, a headlight fell out...'
Very nice looking car but the build quality was poor - the bonnet shuts were all pissed, there was silicone an part of the windscreen seal...
Suppose that's the price you pay for hand built british products.
I'd still have one if someone was giving one away.
