Suspected Ebola patient being tested at Swindon GWH

Patient flew in from Africa to Bristol and transferred to Swindon. We'll know on Sunday morning the results.

Ebola is only transmitted via direct fluid transfer like HIV. So unless you snog someone, share needles with or shag someone infected with the virus, you are ok.

Just a heads-up.

I see the Scottish nurse is in poor health now. Surely it can be transmitted in other ways can it not?

It can be transmitted by contact with a patient if they are sweating or crying as their fluids carry the disease and can be absorbed through the skin.

No high-fiving Ebola patients!
