The good ol days :)

Hello,

Taking a trip down memory lane and was thinking about joining the forum back in 2008.

Now I will be totally honest and say when I joined A-Plan I knew nothing about the jap car scene and ( shock horror ) had not seen any of the Fast and Furious films. ;)

My passion was always classic American cars, but I was keen to learn and put the effort in to understand the jap scene.

I remember the first good friend I made was Ross ( Balloo2u ) after I helped him out with a windscreen claim, he invited me to loads of shows and events.

I remember my first real experience was at the Llandow track. Keith who owned the forum really appreciated me showing up to support the event and wanted to give me a passenger ride in his Skyline.

Again I will be honest and say I am a terrible passenger in a normal car let alone a highly modified Skyline driven by a big bald headed nutter I had only met twice.

I did the passenger ride and Keith with great amusement said I was the biggest girl he had ever taken around the track and he loved how white my knuckles went gripping the seat and hearing me scream lol.

I was also very popular after Chris Cuthbertson made me puke while again doing a passenger ride around RAF Marham. I will still defend myself and say it was the Guinness that me Ross and Jo Parsons drank the night before and the dodgy morning bacon sandwich and not Chris hitting speeds of 176MPH ( I will never forget that ).

I also had a laugh supporting Japfest and giving Jeremy Clarkson a business card ( which he was not amused ), and also supporting the Miss Banzai tunnel run.

Made some really great friends over the years like Jo,Ross, Keith Bruce, Divol and many more. As always the SOC forum is amazing and I am really glad to still be supporting you guys 7 years later

All the best

Dan

lol.. I remember it well.

It was actually when Chris slowed down to leave the track that my stomach went.

I was so embarrassed asking him to pull over on the side of the track.

Still trying to get the courage to have a passenger ride with Bruce Morris.. maybe one day ;)

I also remember going to a drift event with Ross in the car park next to Wembley Stadium.

I followed Ross in to the event in my then very much loved Peugeot 406 SRI petrol turbo 2000cc ( don't knock it as its now a very rare car lol ).

Waiting to get in an irish guy knocked on my window. I took the window down and he looked at me all puzzled and said ( in a very strong irish accent )..

" my word, wat in da hell is dat.. I can't let you with tat there buddy.. you will find the Peugeot show a mile down da road there.. "..

Poor Ross had to come back and chat to the guy and said I was an insurer supporting the event.

I actually parked the Peugeot smack bang in the middle of the jap cars. lol.

Was a great event and really good fun.

Met some really great people over the years and one that really stuck out was toasty on the forum. Think he was on here as team toast.

Now I had just started to attend events and again it was at the Llandow circuit.

So I arrived and had a chat to Keith and some of the other guys and girls I had spoken too.

I was wearing a brown t-shirt and a brown leather jacket and Toasty's opening line to me was something on the line's of attending a brown clothes convention and he also had a passion for brown attire. I had never met the guy and was actually a bit confused. Was he having a go, trying to break the ice.. I had no idea .. I was actually pretty stunned.

Keith then explained it was just his sense of humour
