Laptop

Any laptop guru's out there, I am after a laptop to do the surfing thing. watch dvd and down load the odd bit of music and video... nothing to fancy. I have the desk top for film editing and visual stuff... any one got any idea on a decent laptop around the £400 mark... my old laptop has finally given up the ghost and I need another one to transfer about 15 years worth of data to...I had been looking at the Toshiba Eqium 200 1vo or the Toshoba satalite L30 also the Acer 5620... all suggestions welcome

I bought my laptop online direct from HP. Next day delivery and so far good experience of customer services. It did develop a small fault after a few months and without quibble they sent a courier to pick it up and delivered it back repaired within 4 days. I love my laptop.

Bought my desktop from PC world last year and never again. Took it home and it wouldnt load up. So took it back to shop next day and they initially refused to exchange it. They insisted that it would have to go back to the manufacturer to be repaired. We'd only bought the thing the day before! Hubs had to kick up a real stink in the shop before they would exchange it for a new unit.

Mate

Just bought 120 HP laptops for work.

Last lot were dell and werent brilliant, this lot seem the dogs to be honest.

I have an Acer, you get alot of bang for your buck from their website.

When I get into work I'll send you specs/costs over.

I usually kill my laptops within 12 months of buying them as I travel with them alot and they have a hard life. I'm using a Toshiba Equium atm and it's looking good ;)

Mate,

You need one of these:

TOUGHBOOK FOR GB

Four of the engineers have them.

They work for one of our customers, Bristol Waters, so if it can survive sewers etc it may last a while longer as a scuffer.
