New Here

Just wanted to introduce myself.

Tomorrow I will be insuring and plating my first Nissan Skyline. It is a 1989 Nissan Skyline GT-R. My best friend of 28 years recently started up a company, I will not mention his company name per my non-understanding of the rules as of yet when it comes to rookie posters and/or mentioning companies that import.

I have been driving a 99 Q45t for the past 3 years as my bridge car from 5 S-chassis cars to my dream car. The day tomorrow arrives. Car is already Ohio titled, just waiting for the crappy BMV hours to agree with my work schedule.

It is your typical grey BNR32, although most were made in white. 91k miles, stock bottom end. Seemed pretty stock from photos until the actual arrival. Came over as a collection with another BNR32 (26k original miles) and a 1990 Porsche 964 911 which are currently for sale. Car arrived and found some goodies. Tein Coilovers, bolt in roll cage, HKS GT2530 turbos, 600cc injectors, Tomei Type B poncams, exhaust Power FC, 100oct tune from JUN automotive, and my best friend cut me a deal and installed a Giken triple plate. Here in Ohio the highest octane is 93, if your looking for most available gas pumps. So I will be running octane booster until next week when the tuner gets back in town.

Pretty stoked to finally own the car I have wanted since 03. Now I just need to find a cheap daily. I will post some photos this week as I get more acquainted with my new baby, adjusting headlights, figuring out what some switches are for, etc etc etc.

If anybody has any questions on finding a skyline, shoot me a PM.

Thanks and hoping to learn a lot here, I have done research for years on these cars, so I know a little bit, but nothing compares to hands on learning.

First question:

Only performance clutch I have ever owned was a Exedy 3 puck clutch when I had my SR20DET. Been 8 years since I have driven a stick. Any tips on clutch engagment when it comes to an OS Giken Triple plate? 100miles on it so far, will it always require a little bit of slip and blips of the gas pedal to get it moving from a stop. Whats the healthiest way to use it from a stop?

Thank You

Did a quick photoshoot with my skyline (left) and two other cars imported in the same container. 1990 964 and the other BNR32 26,000 miles on the right.

Nice

That's nice bruh! I am fairly new myself on here. I'm waiting for the 25 year wait of the R33. Or if I come across one of the MotRex'ed R33/R34. Welcome to the hub, maybe we can chat more in the near future.
