Others may correct me, but I believe all skylines, despite engine size and power are group 20 insurance.

And I really can't imagine the fuel being that much better.

when i had a gtr and a gtt the insurance was 150 difference and bizzarely it was cheaper for the GTR,would have thought it would be quite a bit cheaper for a non turbo model

There is very little difference in insurance costs as I found out 10 minutes after buying ours, despite what I was told by various sellers of N/A Skylines......fact is if you have to make a claim it's the same as making one for a GTS-T or GTR when it comes to panels etc.

Fuel wise a 2.0 is great giving an easy 30mpg + on a run and with the right induction/exhaust set-up it still has that distinctive RB sound if a little less angry.

If you want to have a ride in a 2.0 Litre N/A to see how one performs we are only in Doncaster.

I have this:
https://www.skylineowners.com/forum/s...d.php?t=150805

and i get a reliable 25mpg and thats doing a lot of short journeys which doesn't help.

my previous car was an Integra type R, i would liken the costs to running a NA skyline ie: 25-30mpg, expensive parts, high insurance.

insurance wise, they are all group 20, but you need to talk to someone who recognises it's NA as the premium will be loaded differently.
I have had a GTST and it was more to insure than the Non turbo i have now.

thats what i dont understand, you are all saying ALL skylines are group 20 yet when i had both GTR33 and GTT 34 the 34 was more expensive to insure by about 150,i just dont get how an N/A could be the same as a twin turbo 2.6 GTR to insure going on that

THis. directline did not have a 4door NA on their systems and were going to charge a silly ammount, A-plan knew what it was straight away and was 500 fully comp. im 26 with 2yrs ncb. cheaper than my old s13.
as for fuel, as long as your not caning it everywhere its not a problem, i went to bristol airport last night, put in 20, did 230Kms, still fuel left in it, been shopping and done runarounds today, still fuel in it. do not know what mpg that works out to be tho,

yep all Skylines (Even 2.0) group 20, My RB25DE with Induction and Exhaust upgrades 22-25 mpg on short trips round town (very consistently too), not so sure about runs no more than 30mpg but mines an autobox

The ins. co's do cock up now and again though, I owned a triple rotor Eunos Cosmo and the previous owner had it insured as a 1.3 ( i couldnt manage it, got it insured as a 2.6 in the end when really it was a 3.9!!!) God, i loved that car

not 'so' cheap to insure but yes cheaper than the turbo version if you speak to someone who knows what the hell they are talking about.

I'm with Sky, and pay less than 450 and that's with 3 points. I would add however i do have over 10 years NCB + married with dependants, homeowner, wife on policy etc etc.... you get the idea.

well you need to speak to an insurance who knows what they are on about, comparisons sites are a waste of time if the car is imported, because the chances are it wont be listed. directline tried charging me as turbo prices because they didnt have NA on their systems.
