Unhappy speedo senser

hi there does anyone know how to test a speedo senser? i really havent got a clue any ideas please??????

when coasting with the clutch pressed your revs should hold at about 1000rpm then as the car comes to a stop they drop to idle at 750rpm, if your revs drop to 750 whilst coasting then your sensor is goosed.

if the sensor is off the car,you can use a multimeter and spin it by hand set on low voltage,if theres no current its duff
