Oil for RB25DE HELP!

Hi all,

I topped up my oil the other day and it has developed an irregular tick over almost instantly.

The oil was 10/40 Semi-synthetic that my local garage reccomended.

Any ideas?

It is bang on the full mark on the dip stick (that wouldn't cause an overflow issue would it?)

Cheers.

irregular tick over? oil is very very unlikely to have anything to do with it. are you sure that the oil in it before you topped up wasnt minieral oil? thats really the only issue...?

"irregular" sounds like "hunting" ie its looking for air. unless the iregularlrty is a missfire?

check the ususal suspects... air filter, fuel and spark and see what happens.

does it do the same thing when hot and cold, or does the iregualirty come and go?

It does sound like it is hunting.

I just found it odd that it was straight after I topped up the oil..

Plugs, oil and filter are in order when I get paid Thursday.

It only has a cone air filter/ Cat back exhaust.

It seems more aggressive when it is cold. (revving and dropping around 500-1000)

Cleaned the throttle valve sensor. Reset the throttle control valve. Oil change. 1/3 things worked J.D.

simple thing that can happen is when filling up with oil you can spill some down the plugs causing problems
