Arm Rest

Thought these were standard on the GT, but my base 6MT is without. Had my eye on one for ages, although until he drops the price, it's not going to happen! That said, it is only the arm rest and without eyes on a GT that has one, I'm not sure how it fixes to the centre console and that mine will have what's needed to install it. Anyone give me a heads up please?

What have you got between the seat, can you post a photo up?.

I've a cubby hole with a padded top it's not much of a arm rest but prob is more so for tall people with the seat right back..

Yep seen the thin padded top type. Mine has nothing apart from just two side by side cup holders.

Are you sure somebody hasn't just removed the lid before you got the car?

Sounds like someone just removed the armrest as this is standard from what I understand. I pic will confirm though.

Well I have finally got to the bottom of this. MT armrest, if you can call it that, is much shorter than the AT item and is held down with two magnets, unlike the catch of the AT. Most 03 & 03.5 MT came without, as did the 350Z. Mine is registered April 04, so was probably an 03 build! So never had one and looking at the use it provides, don't want one, lol. I did however acquire an opportune impulse buy of a black AT one in VGC....

I have never seen a 350GT without a centre console, can you post a pic? mine was an 04 manual, and its fixed very firmly by four screws.
Here is a pic of mine.

Yes, but the catch at the front was 2 small square magnets...no? At the rear of the centre console you had the two slots for the hinge to pass through, I have none of this! Done a huge google sweep and bit by bit picked up the info I posted earlier.

So your talking about the lid/arm rest then and not the rest of the console, so why are you not going to fit the lid then? seems daft as its a really good arm rest.

I'd have to say that the arm rest in the pic is what I have as well. Because of the length, I have gotten used to not using it. It seems a bit low to set your arm on comfortably. The arm rests I've seen on the automatics though see wider and longer. A friend of mine had the auto and the arm rest seemed more useful.

Now as far as just having it to complete a look or cover up the cup holders is person preference. Either way probably looks fine though. I do like the armrest lid as I can hide stuff in there so it doesn't look so cluttered.

Firstly I only have a AT one, which is too long and not compatible. The MT one as you know is shorter. My centre console does not accommodate one as it does not have the slotted section at the back for the hinge or the magnets to keep it shut! There are a few complete units in the states, but the total cost is excessive. I would have liked one, but am also happy it was a factory option and not just removed!!!!
