Selling under 100 rule - post moderation

the people trying to get round the 10 post rule are being aided by the ones trying to enforce it.
When they post up trying to sell. 90% of the time the post is modified to some random spam that makes no sense. This is still giving the user a +1 post count.

Can't they just be deleted. Or better still not able to post in the in the for sale section or reply to wanted posts

Bud, sometimes we delete completely, sometimes when the humour runs away with us we don't. Some times they get warnings or infractions depending if we think it warrants it.

I think the Admins are still talking about blocking new users from sales and wants.

to bad a system like ebay cant be implimented on a forum.
really ~ a member can have a billion post count and still rip you off!

in the ebay system where a percentile is given for items "Sold" "Purchased" and soforth from both the buyer and the seller. Cuz i dont buy off anyone on ebay unless i see a 100% seller feedback. And if its needed you can still see the actual feedback from each person on that seller.

postcount means nothing.

there is an Itrade thing on here which does exactly that, i just think you need to highlight it more, the traders especially this will show straight away who are good sellers / buyers

i have a few points on my itrade but its mostly for blow up dolls for keith

If you don't want new users to sell then this should be blocked as an option for them to post on there.

The rules should also be emailed to new users upon registration.

I work as a web and graphic designer and we build forums and that has been the easiest way to say, "well we did tell you" as very few new users read the rules, hidden in forums with the same typography and styles as other posts (thus making them invisible and only enforced by punishments).

For people who just spam and dont contribute then they should have the infractions against them, as honest people are being hit by these.

If you need any suggestions let me know and I can see what we can design / develop to help.

People who join just to sell a car get banned, people who contribute but advertise something for sale and its a genuine mistake of forgetting/not knowing the rules I would think get a warning..... how is that unfair?
