Niab Lets use the calendar?

I recon all meets/events/shows that are being organised by mods should be added to the calendar as a matter of course.

That way if one is not able to be on the forum regually and falls out of the loop, one can see at a glance if anything fun is happening soon and easily join in as somtimes dates and times etc for meets can change quickly so its hard to loser track but if the person responsible for organising the meet also updates the calendar I recon it would be a lot easier.

I'd definately 2nd that motion. Would be much easier to track 'quickly' where and when things are going on.

If you look, all the shows the club is attending and got stands at is on the calender.

As for meets its prob best not all the meets are posted on it as it could become cluttered very quickly and it's prob a lot easier just to look in your area section.

Plus your local rep should be PMing you of up coming meets/shows your area is attending.

If not let me know.

to be perfectly honest I get PMs, but then you get a 20 page thread about a meet with dates and times changing throughout. so unless you read the whole thread you can end up going on the wrong day or somthing lol. Unless you make it the policy to always update the first post in the thread with the current information then yeah your right Bruce but this isnt always the case.

Personally I'd rather have a "cluttered" calendar and be able to quickly see if theres anything relevant I can attend comming up soon. What would be ideal if you could colour code the calendar so southen meets show in red, south east in blue etc.

I'm just thinking out loud really and you guys do a great job dont get me wrong but I've seen a few threads that try to organise meets get confusing pretty quickly and figured it wasn't just me who found that :P

I still agree with Rich whole heartedly. I was a member of cliosport.net prior to getting an S15 (and then the Skyline) this is how all meets (regional and national) were organised and it worked really well.

I don't agree that the calendar would become cluttered, there aren't that many meets orgainsed! I suppose the restriction I would put on would be Skyline-Only meets only in the Calendar, not general meets else I agree it would be very cluttered.

And no - I don't get PM's regarding meets. Wish i did! I don't even know what region I'm supposed to fall into!

The calender is along the user bar with garage, search etc

Most of the meets are fixed, but a few reps have tried opening the dates to suggestions to Accommodate as many people as poss to get a bigger turn out.

I personally just use the Calender for shows and the south central section for my local meets.

Although we could ask the Reps to start putting there meets on the calender and making sure they keep there first post updated..

I agree with this, I have never had any pm from any area rep re meets round me and tend to miss most or see them after they had taken place...
