Vangeezer's R34 GTT

Well thought it was about time I started to document bits and pieces on here! Not planning on anything silly or too major but will eventually get to stage 1 mods and other nice little touches! (I hope!)

Imported straight from japan completely standard- untouched engine bay 75k miles approx

Didn't come with any audio either

has now been sorted with a touchscreen JVC double DIN unit

Wasn't a fan of the black eyebrows so had them removed before it was ready for collection

These ‘fog’ lamps disappeared before they reached Southampton (to be fair they probably did me favour they weren’t even straight!!)

Rear seats don't look even sat in

Cambelt change at approx 60k miles

T5 advan wheels 17"

HKS Hi Power catback exhaust

Greddy Profile Spec 2 boost controller

A couple minor things failed on the MOT when she arrived but was sorted by torque gt including the fitting of new iridium sparkplugs

First mod was to change the wheels to rota grid drifts which I had used on my previous car

Second mod was an hks super suction filter it was a bloody cold day!!

Exhaust bung was um…lost!

A month after having the car the coilpacks decided to die so went back to torque gt for new coilpacks and a fresh engine oil and filter change. Luckily the car was still under it’s warranty!

The hks filter had a fantastic sound but one thing was missing, a BOV. Watching domo’s in-car video clip from japfest had me hooked so I contacted him about what system he had and after I bought all the bits kindly helped fit it (Cheers dom!!)

Changed engine oil and filter at 77990 miles

After soughting advice from the lovely people on here new redline shockproof gearbox oil was bought to try and solve the 5th gear crunching issue. 80 later, the 1st run back out in her the crunching had completely disappeared and not come back as of yet
Changed at 78111 miles

Next mod was to change the exhaust system as I had noticed on other people’s skylines it had a nice ‘throaty’ sound which the standard pipework didn’t give so sought the advice of nitros (Cheers Paul!) and so was back on the internet to find a new stainless turbo elbow and a 3” stainless downpipe. Managed to track down a brand new japspeed drift spec turbo elbow no decent pic of the downpipe I'm afraid

A week later it was fitted by a local garage and has got the ‘throaty’ sound I’ve been after for so long!! Am quite happy with the way the car is right now

Next mod will be a new silicone intake pipe just to get that bit more air sucked in and then a FMIC to get all that air cooled nicely….oh and maybe one day treat myself to that gtr spoiler I’ve always wanted!

Well that’s it for now I’ll try and update as I do bits and bobs

Any comments/suggestions very much welcomed

Good to see you have got your own project thread now

That rear strut brace seems a very rare item along with that front spliter!

Thank goodness you lost those lights and those headlight eyebrows, I don't know what people see in those, they are horrible!

Nice work so far, any plans for the future?

Yeh I think the splitter is I've never seen it on any other skyline. It's made by hasemi sport in Japan. Not too sure where the rear strut brace came from? I assume the'yre not a standard thing at all?

Yep rare to see a rear brace on a 34. I managed to source a cusco one which wasn't meant to fit my chassis. Only other 34 that I know to have one is Gizmo and he got his off a specially built r34 GTR.

Also just noticed you have a nice rare bonnet nose too

Ah right well every days a school day! Like I say I couldn't tell you what make it is I think it's just plain but I'll have a look next time I open the boot and see if there's a label on it somewhere!

Oh yes your quite right I'm not sure who made this but pretty sure you used to be able to get this lip or equivalent from nismo. Nice little touch as it adds 'depth' to the front grill but only when you look at it from the front. Does look a bit odd from the side mind!

Also a cool little thing is there's chrome surround round the speedo dials looks quite cool

Although the japs do have a worryingly bad taste in things sometimes haha!

Yeah that's why I didn't mention the chrome dials ;)

It's nice to see something different on a 34

Nice improvements/mods. I say 'improvement' because think the fog lights did look very poor. The last owner must have been a bit of a plank lol
I liked the look of your R34 in the thread showing your wheels, it's nice to see some more pictures. What size wheels and tyres are you running? Are you still on bog standard suspension? I think just adding the wheels has transformed the look of your car

the HKS induction does look and sound awesome, just fitted one to mine and I'm in love with the sound.
Looking forwards to seeing the GTR spoiler fitted

Well I've just had a quick look around the rear strut brace I couldn't find any labelling on it at all so just took a few more photos...

If anyone recognises this then let me know!

Haha yeh think he was a bit of a plank!! Uh I'm runnin 18x8.5 on the front with recently added falkens 225/40 and the rears are 18x9.5 with falkens 245/40. Suspension is hks coilovers put on by jap owner. Bet they cost a small fortune!! Think they're on the hardest setting goin mind you can feel the car go over a blade of grass haha!! But I'm not too worried about playing about with it the handling is excellent!!

Yeh I been lazy and just copied this from the other owners forum page I got on there so the induction kit is nearly a year old now. When I've got a minute I'll put more pics on I changed the filter recently to a purple one looks good!!

I did put up a thread a week or two ago about my spoiler and what people thought about the colour of it I think you did post can't remember now I'll put the link up!

Very simply mate! New switch wire to the drivers side reverse light which was crimped to original reverse switch wire then there's a little rocker switch underneath steering wheel to turn it on and off. Basically the lamp got painted red happy days!
