spoken to eurocamp and they are saying most of there camps will be closed by then for winter, another brick wall im hittin anyone any other ideas or want to lend a hand with this im off on holiday soon :D

so far hotels are about out because alot of he places we want to goto are just totally out of any price range that would make this run affordable and some of eurocamps are defo out so what do we do im startign to think summer 2013 and go camping , not great but its just too bloody expensive any other way in the dates we have set of this year....

feedback please!!!!

Why not try and use the hotels but out of town to make it a bit cheaper, we've done this many times for other events, maybe for this first event try going for a slightly cheaper route?

Maybe start at Zandvoort as we said (i know a cheap hotel), then onto the Ring, again plenty of cheap hotels, then down to bern as mentioned before but maybe then miss out Milan and Monaco to help drop costs?
That way you could still go with the hotels that you'd already had prices for.

have tryed a good few places but just cant seem to get the money side of things to get even close to where it makes this run affordable, also i looked into changing the route so we bypassed the major cities ie milan but even not stayign there and other places the figures dont come close... anyone want to lend a hand??

Cheers rob that's part of the problem for the costs rob we will have charges in a few countries parking motorway chargers etc etc it all adding up to a lot of cash when u also put on the fuel costs ,ferries and hotels too

One idea myself and Andy d were speaking about was to put this run on hold until cheaper time of the year next year ie a time we can get all the areas camping instead , (most euro camps close by the date we had set)
Instead we could see about joining in with the nurburgring run and maybe travel a little over Germany and northern France instead...

i think we have come to far to change it now, think if we just fine tune the route to tie in with affordable accomodation etc we will be on to a winner, im not giving up yet have already booked time off work ha! plus my gf dont wanna come so iv got a free pass!! so if any sexi blondes wanna ride shotgun lol apply within, it might just be a case of finding hotels just out of the main tourist places but even if its just us lot staying there then there will be enough of us to have a good laugh.

This is the fun you guys could have http://www.skylineowners.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1913202#post1913202

If it was me I'd do it like this, head out on the saturday morning and all meet as suggested for the last round of the Time attack show on the sunday, you could all be on the Dutch stand which would be a nice touch and come out for a few drinks and meal with me, Shed, Stusy etc for a meal on the sat night, you could all either camp or rent the 4 bed cabins here http://www.letsbookhotel.com/en/netherlands/zandvoort/hotel/camping-de-branding.aspx for the sat + sun night.
Mon morning head off to the Nurburgring and camp here http://www.camping-am-nuerburgring.de/ for mon night, tues morning have breakfast and then cruise off down to Bern in switzerland and camp here http://www.campingeichholz.ch/ for tues night, wed morning get up and head over to the San bernardino pass (that way it saves a big mission on tues) and camp here http://mountaininfo.com/camping.html for wed night.
Then thurs morning get up and drive to SPA (bit of a mission) and camp here http://alanrogers.com/campsites/book/book-this-campsite.php?SiteARNo=BE0740 you can even rent a mobile carvan for only 60EURO's for 4 people, You could then either cruise back fri afternoon or stay an extra night and cruise back mon morning (i'd probably treat myself and do that).

That route is shorter i'd say, you've got cheap accommodation, and takes in some serious petrol head locations, Ring, SPA, San bernardino pass, Zandvoort, Time attack etc

Dates would be head out sat 15th Sept, return either fri or sat 21st or 22nd.

That's the route nailed i'd say in my post.
