I have recently bought a 2.0Ltr GTS N/A.

I was wondering what the top speed of a standard one of these is?

I ask because my speedo was telling my 165, however this is of course not in MPH, however, I have been through speed traps that indicate that when my car reads 30, the true speed is infact 30MPH. (you know those things that tell you your exact speed?)

So it appears to be acurate in MPH at low speeds, but varies hugley at a faster pace.

Any ideas?

Aidan, borrow my TomTom GPS which will give you an accurate indication of your speed.

We'll have to meet up and check out your speedo.

ive driven alot of different cars through work and it would seem thatthe speedo over read (ie add on ) about 5mph.

when my speedo reads 140 kph (90mph) the car according to tomtom is doing 85.

at an indicated 120 (70 ish) its actually doing 68 to 69.

seems tobe standard across most cars that they over read.

I have the RB20E and I have had 140mph with a front caliper stuck on and was still pulling so at a guess I would say around the 150-60 marker (depending on mods ect...)

I had the car on the rolling road today and it was only at 102 BHP with 154Nm of tourque.

Would this be due to a restrictor?

No thats way way down. Where was the rolling road, BTW?

The limiter is on top speed, not BHP. When you hit it, the car stays at 180kmh.

You didn;t buy from croft motors in fforestfach did you........

should be 130 ish easy.

is it an auto? some rolling roads have problems with autos, hence the question.

sounds like it is still limited too. be crefull withthe cheaper limiters. thy canscrew up the mileometer and if fitted hicas.

It was at the wheels.

It was my university rolling road..

Unfortunatly the printer was not working.

It is a manual box.

Thanks for all the opinions, keep them coming.

standard power for the rb20e is booked at 125 so you arent doing bad.
first thing to do is give it an oil service and change the sparkplugs, also check the throttle cable because once its got good slack it wont open the throttle all the way
