I've managed to chip some of the paint on my nearside rear wheel arch. It is only a very small chip (about an inch long) but it annoys me as it's quite deep.

Is there an easy way to solve this? Can I use touch up paint? or is that a bad idea

Hope this question isn't too stupid but I have no idea about these things!

Deep stone chips i`m afraid to say need repainting. Don`t use "chips away", as although they remove all stone chips well without the need for repainting they use synthetic paint. If you need any of the covered area repainted at any time the synthetic paint seems to react with 2pac paint.

As it's a small chip is it something the enthusiastic amateur could do?

If so could you recommend anywhere on t'internet where I can get hold of the right materials

It depends on the area affected. For example if your car is metallic and the scratch is on the rear wing area (wheel arch) then unless you touch it in, then lacqer it, it will stick out like a sore thumb.
