Just for laughs or brain waves...

Ages ago i bought some nice intake pipe and a mushroom filter and had myself all set to suck in some cool air during summer straight from the front or bottom, or wherever i could get some - which is what led me to a dead end...

No place to shove the pipe out... Car at the time being little over standard with hardpipe+BOV, standard intercooler etc etc.... No holes, no places i could squeeze a pipe through for air....Only way i could foresee was single headlamp conversion to draw air straight in from the front directly...but i didnt want to do that, i like my lights as they are.

Anywho, now its a flat panel filter with a heatsheild jobby...

What ideas / or efforts / or even working models of juicy air intakes have you got !?.....any ideas for me,
Has anyone messed up anything by sucking more cold air in ( IE AFM/ecu settings, cold starting etc )....

Now my cars carrying new mods so further from standard but still a way to go, but more air is something i always liked adding to my old scrappy cars way back when, ussualy worked a treat. But on my R33 having a lip 1 inch high and 6 inchs wide for cold air to come through doesnt seem enough to me, i want more !

Here's the way I did it, only regret is I wish I'd thought of it sooner!

These links contain ideas from other owners as well, providing a useful repository of intake mod ideas.

You will of course get hundreds of folks suggesting the rain will get in, it doesn't, and at the hand car wash simply ask the pleb with the pressure washer not to aim it in the intake. I've run this setup for well over a year with not a single problem, intake was purchased from Demon Tweeks.
