When I bought the car, about a month ago. The chap had just had the engine rebuilt and had the following done:

Bored 86.5, Carilio Piston Crowns, Pistons gapped to street performance, RB26 rods, ACL small and big bearings, APR head studs and nuts, new oil pump and water pump, triple layered head gasket.

Now he told me to use C23 oil? I've had a look at that and can see it's the oil for a Serena. I'm finding it hard to believe that this is the right oil?

What should I use? I've seen people running 10W50 or 60, but is that too thick for the oil pump?

Thanks,

Awesome, thanks for replying.

I'll check them out, and get a better idea.

It has done abiut 1100 miles since build so needs changing and will expect to see metal shavings in there. Want to get it done before it's mapped in September

I didn't mean shavings, maybe dust/particles, could be from the bore, I didn't get it bored, so not sure how good the workmanship of the person who carried out the work is, it's only done 1000 miles since the rebuild. Someone near me had the same thing after he had his rebuilt.

I see 10w50 alot, so may just go down that route as well.
