Not much happens this time of year most are tucked away for winter but if your about there's the odd one or two who knock about who are probably up for a burn out me aswell

Fingers crossed mine will be back on the road very soon. As others have said not many are playing out in the winter. Hey AnthonyMcGrath sorry hear of your problems. I have an endoscope to check your piston crowns if it will help ID your problem . PM me if you want to sort something out.

Yep that's what threw me too.. literally all 6 have nowt to give. CAMS and belt are fine too so my first thought was crank but the engine turns and all 6 pots go up and down.. However I can hear loose springs in the block so I reckon it really is me rings tbh :/

Hey Headrush - looks like I will be running again (fingers crossed) so will be going to 3 Sisters - but won't be on the track as I can't afford to trash my motor ... but if you are going it is always good to meet fellow skyline owners, compare cars and have a chat. :)

Rebooted car yesterday + all seemed good - a few careful tick over to temperature runs - check for leaks etc. - cool down - bleed air from coolant - restart - all well.Take for gentle drive - sounds great - super smooth - short boost - no evidence of leaks brill - turning into our street - misfire - clouds of white steam / smoke from exhaust :( Borescope check today has confirmed coolant in pot 4 - instead of gas into coolant pot 5&6 like it was last time. Possibly due to unbranded gasket. Go cheap + pay twice.... So MLS Cometic gasket on the way from Conceptua. With everything stripped down once it will be a quick rebuild this time - (hopefully head skim not reqd) - But unlikely to be ready for 3 Sisters......... sorry. Could have been worse I suppose......

Postmortem. Only by complete strip down to block again....(thanks BlueII for putting in the Hours and keeping me sane :notworthy:).
Headgasket was OK. Cheap 'n' nasty inlet gasket had failed spectacularly sucking coolant into pot 4 - washing the turbo and making big steam clouds ---something like this :mpee:
Everything looks OK - Cometic inlet gasket is in the post.... but we won't be running at 3 Sisters tomorrow. - but expect to be playing out by Easter :grinno:
Planning to come over to 3 Sisters in 2 of the Red Saddo - Skodas though for a mooch and a chat :devil:

It all kicks off about 10 ish I think and runs on till late into the evening Pete
My 32 is gonna sit on the voodoo vinyl stand so come and say hello
Daz car is all back together now so will be at halfords at 8.30 mate
