I was reading that oil in the auto tranny must not be too hot or too cool, is it a good idea if I get an 9 or 13 row oil cooler and fit it INSTEAD of the one which is integrated in the killer? Would I need a thermostate? What temperature is normal for tranny oil in a GTT?

i understand there is no need to change the cooler (unless of course you want too) - as its is well up to the job. im just relaying back what i have been told from reliable sources on here and SAU (they bum the autos).

i guess it would help for cooling etc but id rather invest in the valve block or manual upgrade for quicker changes to be honest?

i have standard cooler with a stage 2 tune and it runs great.

Huh, I forgot to mention it is not for performance upgrade really. I will put the radiator off the car, and I could chuck an oil cooler for the tranny which I could use later when upgrading to manual for engine oil I guess. The ebay ones are pretty cheap, round 30pounds for a 9row cooler...
Yeah, blicking the valves is considered, I hope we do it together with new headgasket and waterpump&belts change.
Have you done it?

No I haven't done it, I dont know wether i will get round to it as im considering selling her.

I have the cup core plugs ready but it would have to be a job for someone else as I can't be trusted around cars.

I would keep your money though unless of course your smashing in and out of those gears like there's no tomorrow.

There is detail in the faq's from dean which will guide you if you fancied it.
