I have a bad back, quite annoying as it occassionally plays up and I can't move for a few hours, normally this last about 12hours max, however I have now had this for nearly 6 days! really starting to get on my nerves as it's making me grouchy and moody alot of the time, as you can imagine not good when i get into arguments with my family or my mrs as I am already wound up. No matter how many painkillers I take it won't budge, Does anyone with similar or the same problems have any solutions to getting rid of it?

Thanks,

Rendle.

Nahh I haven't I was going to book a doctors appointment but my doctors is like a mile - 2 mile walk which with this pain is an absolute killer. also last time I saw a doctor about it he jsut said take painkillers, pretty useless imformation lol

and bless him it's bad at my age I imagine at his it's even worse, my dad has a similar problem, he knackered his back when a jack collapsed under a car while he was under it and it crushed his back :/

Yeah that dr needs a slap, that's pathetic advice.
Get yourself to a specialist... a back playing up leaving you immobile for 12 hours at a time is a very long way from "normal" and well beyond the capabilities of a regular GP to diagnose.

It could be something simple, but it might be a medical condition. Either way, you only get one back and you need it to function for the rest of your life, look after it! ....and there will be medication you can take that's far more appropriate than basic pain killers

Definitely need to see a doc -if only to rule out you havent hurt a disc. I have suffered with a bad back since I was 18 when I fell down stairs. Ended up having 4 ops including a spinal fusion. Im fine now but still need to be careful. Nothing worse than back pain -it serious effects your whole body -including your mind. Get it seen to -and get 2nd opinion as that doctor sounds shite! Watch out for shooting pains down your leg and backside -that means the disc is pressing on your sciatic nerve -bloody agony.

Thanks guy i will try see a specialist about it and get something done about it all, today it seems to have eased off a little I am able to walk witout too much irritation but its still there, and as far as the leg pain thankfully no i haven had it in my leg yet, its currently just working its way from my lower back to the top.

Back pain is awful mate so totally feel for you. I prolapsed a disc about 4 years ago and its taken this long to get to about 80% health without using pain killers 4-5 times a day.

Before I had my scan which showed the bulged disc I had had a few moments similar to what you describe with a tight feeling around the back of ribs and pain when you breathe. Get your doc to refer you for an mri. Ps the pain i had after the scan was 100% leg pain, the twinges before were all back pain.

bloody hell mate thats a long time on painkillers nad especially as its now still at only 80% hope it all gets back to normal soon for you.

Ahh right well my mates mrs goes to a kyropractor and said that they are pretty good aswell, he said if I go to the doctors and ttell them about my back again they might refer me to one or something, liek yo usaid about the bulge in your back and the twinges, it hoenstly feels liek something is pushing out my back, the mrs usually gives me a bit of a back rub at night which calms it down for about 30 mins then its back again. But will get myself booked in as soon as i can thanks mate

My surgeon said chiropractors should be avoided. Everyone will have their own opinion mate so just get referred and go from there. Once you've prolapsed a disc it never repairs 100% so I will always have issues but the majority of people have issues for about 3 months tops.

To me Docs are no better than licensed drug dealers , every time some body goes to see a GP the 1st thing they offer are pills FFS, I had back problems until I went to see a Chiropracter , who over the course of treatment made a major difference , unfortunately never will be 200% but with a better understanding of how it may of happened I can now look after my back n neck better,(car crash in 92 and moto x accident in 89 ) . Or smoke weed lol. supposedly helps
