has anyone else experienced a bang under the car when going into corners fast and hard?
ive had it happen twice and it sounds like a log being flicked up
and hitting the underside. just wondered if it could be the HICAS?

course it could actually be a log being flicked up under my car!

shouldn't make any noises.

However, anything loose under the car could. Exhaust not mounted right?


Are your wheels/tyres sticking out the arches? Could be body roll causing tyre/arch contact.

Bushes worn?

Thats about all in my limited experience.

Might also be worth checking that the spare wheel and all the gubbins with it are secure.

If that's all ok the try jacking the car up, grab the wheels and see if you can move them up or down or side to side. If you can the something's worn like a tie rod end or a wheel bearing.

thanks both, i was Shipping myself when it happened
cos it sounded like it was gonna cost me in paint and filla.
i would have thought that it all should be fairly sound, its only done 20K so far and is fairly mint. but i'll give all that a check
and maybe go out tonight and try and make it happen agian.
p.s.
ive got some sports spring on their way to me, how much cooler does a 35mm drop look or does it look pretty much the same???

Incredibly Cool!

And a piece of p**s to fit, can have the rear shocks out, and springs off and on in 2 hours easy.

Will look wicked.

As Grebo says, and I shoulda though... Check the jack is secured in its stowage (behind a panel in the rear passenger quarter panel in the boot). Makes a racket if its loose!
