Boost problems

Can you post a pic of the plumbing?
That's not an overboost sensor, that's a factory 2 stage boost controller

Ditch the t piece that you've got going to the gauge, and relocate it to one of the lines coming off your plenum. But seriously recommend spending a little more and investing an electronic one, those suckers spike like hell, my first one used to surge and hit 18 psi or something under full boost. Not good for longevity of engine or turbo... Good luck!

i was thinking of gettin a electronic boost controller for it anyways but thought it wud be a cheaper option. any ideas on wot psi i can go to with standard turbo and fmic. Also if i am running it like that does the boost controller need to be reconnected?

It's kinda luck of the draw... I've heard of guys pushing 19+ psi but there's a lot of risk. Without some sort of management... Safc2, Greddy e manage are prob your cheaper options I wouldn't be pushing it much more than 9psi. Is it a series 2? If so you'll hit r&r real quick. Computer dumps crap loads of fuel and reduces air... Thus flat spot... Or you'll lean it out and cook pistons/rings... Fine line between em.

That's plumbed in wrong. Get rid of your t piece to your gauge, and also get rid of the standard pipes and standard t piece that used to go to the solenoid, there's a restrictor inside one of them which will affect it. Your actuator feed is also in the wrong part of the intake, it should be before the intercooler, not after it. The closer to the turbo the better.

Thanks for all your input i have only just brought the car and it is a series 2.

when i brought the car the actuater was run off the pipe that i now have the bleed valve in so just assumed it was right.

i dont know if there is any other boost pipes that are nearer the turbo but it does make sense that it needs to be as close as possible.

i have read that .85 bar is ok to run so was only gonna turn it up to that anyway dont wanna end up blowing it up.

Am gonna look into gettin a electronic oost controller and take it to a rolling road and get it set up also may get an uprated fuel pump. Any of them better than others?

Any decent make will do, blitz, apexi, gizmo and various others. I seen quite a few 2nd hand good branded ones going for around 120-150 odd quid. Also look for breaking skylines on here and eBay they usually sell boost controllers quite cheap.
