just been looking for insurance for the wife's 1.4L ibiza. she is currently insured with ibuyeco and their best renewal quote from their panel of insurers is £655!:eek7: (excess £450!)

wait for it cos this gets even better......

went on gocompare and chucked in all the details, lo and behold ibuyeco have quoted for her insurance, same excess and everything £438!!!!:wtf:

how the hell can they claim their best price was £655 ffs?

even though it won't really change anything i can see them getting a call tomorrow to try and explain that to me.
this sort of blatant profiteering really annoys me and they won't get my business again whatever the price:thumbsdown:

Tried APlan?
Had this conversation last year regarding the House Insurance............its just to reel in new business and hope you stay.
When I raised this with Norwich Union they offered a lower renewal quote to their original "best offer".
My advise - see if you can get them to reduce and if not, go elsewhere
gotta give dan a call at some point to see what he can do.

i'm of the opinion that if they ain't giving me the best deal first time round they can get f****d.

with an excess of £250 she can get insured for around £270 elsewhere. just don't know what they're like if you have an accident
i had this with avia....they sent me through a renawal quote that was deerer than my premium last year so i went on their website and tapped in my details and it came out 400 cheaper!?!?! WTF!!?? so i rang them up and they have reduced it down to that...some way to look after ther costomers!!
Insurance is a classic case where loyalty doesn't pay.
i wudnt trust these compare websites with a barge pole!... i did a quote on one of them the other week...had a look at the quote at work n there was some details popped up completly wrong... also.. wen u get sent a renewal more insurance companies have more than 1 underwritter and your renewal goes off the same underwritter as last year ....

they might just have had a rate increase...most insurance companies have to be honest... 20% in most cases...
The same underwriter wanted £909! They searched their extensive panel of insurers to come up with £655
So the underwritter u was with last year have putthere rates up and a differnt one has come out cheaper for you :)
I had the same thing with my house insurance. I rang em up to find out why their renewal was more than an online quote. The guy just said accept the online quote and that's what I did.
It's just the game that they play, just play em back at it. They will either lower the quote or you can go elsewhere if that's cheaper.
Bell have quoted her around £270. anyone ever used them?
online quotes arent always accurate information tho... i found that out for myself today... did a quote on comparison website... opened it up at work two inaccurancy what cud've invailed the insurance if i wud've paid for it....
is that the dinner bell lol
the other bell i couldnt print lol
when i was 19 i had my mr2 and bell were the cheapest they quoted me 1300 quid and the next closest to that was over 2k, i never had an accident so didnt need to claim but i never had any trouble with them.
Cheers guys and girls, looks like Bell it is.

I always double check everything on insurance x.laura.x just in case they try and slip in some extra clauses. As you can probably tell I don't really trust them.
IMO: I think insurance companies work on the law of averages, that some people will just pay out as cant be bothered to look around.

The law of averages is a lay term used to express a belief that outcomes of a random event shall "even out" within a small sample.

As invoked in everyday life, the "law" usually reflects bad statistics or wishful thinking rather than any mathematical principle. While there is a real theorem that a random variable will reflect its underlying probability over a very large sample, the law of averages typically assumes that unnatural short-term "balance" must occur.

so yes robbing b-stewards. :eek7:
