Our February trackday at Brands is now fully booked so we are looking towards Cadwell Park on Friday March 26th as our next track outing. We are running the usual setup of open pitlane, free tuition from our team of ARDS instructors and limited numbers to make sure you can get plenty of lappage on this fantastic circuit!

The list price for this event is £150 but as ever we are doing a special rate for the clubs that we work with to run these days and we’ve frozen last years price so you can book a place for just £125. Passengers can be booked in for a tenner and extra drivers for £35.

If you haven’t been to Cadwell before it’s one of the best circuits in the country, fast and flowing in some places, tight and twisty in others and with some gradient changes that you won’t believe until you have driven them - a fantastic trackday venue.

If you’d like the guided tour then here’s a video from one of the cars at last years event

Bookings can be made HERE but if you’d like to come along please shout up and I’ll PM you the discount code to get the club rate.

Cheers

As you know Steve I plan to be there :bigthumb:
Steve,

How do you guys feel about drifting at your track days ?

Can i stress not just twatting about doing big skids but trying to practice and get as much seat time as possible for competing in the European Drift Championship

We have recently been allowed to do so at Mallory park and we were very well behaved :D

Hi Lex

I love a bit of drifting myself although it's strictly amateur stuff on the low grip stages at Oulton for me!

To be honest I'm not sure how the marshals would view drifting on the main track, if it was well controlled at all times you might get away with it but if it looked a bit wayward I think you might get a black flag - this is pretty well out of our control and down to the circuit. Also, I assume that the day at Mallory was a closed session for drifters? I think it could be a problem on a normal trackday because the entry and cornering speeds are generally different for drifting as opposed to track lines which could cause complications.

On the whole I think I'd say I've no problem with you getting sideways some of the time but once it starts to get like proper drift practice I think you are likely to get pulled so a lot depends on how full-on you need your seat time to be :Uzi:

Sorry I can't be more specific!

Would of loved to come but with my little one due on the 27th I think I'd be pushing my luck.
Not the same day, I can't see the problem :bigthumb:

Thanks for the feedback mate

I love the Oulton stages and look forward to doing DriftTaxis there again this yr for Modified live

Yes the Mallory session are drift specific - i understand how marshalls view drifting especially when other drivers a gripping on track at the same time

I really do my my seat time to be full on :ylsuper:

PMd you links to vids from our last 2 outings so as nto to clutter your thread

Cheers

Got those vids Lex, that looks like a lot of fun but definitely wouldn't work against the guys who were taking the normal race lines so I think drift and track will need to continue running separately

Still got room for a few more on this one :whip:
the track days i've been to work on a group basis
i.e. batch 1 goes out for 15mins, e.g. road cars under 2ltr
then batch 2 goes out for 15mins, e.g. road cars over 2ltr
then single seaters or bikes in another group

could you run a similar format so that drivers and drifters are in different batches? therefore eliminating the 'different line' issues you are concerned about?

i'd have liked to have seen some drifting at the tracks days i've been to

anyways, just an idea i thought i'd put out there
Hi Tom

Most regular trackdayers (myself included) don't like sessioned events as it restricts the time you can get on track so whilst it would allow for the different styles of driving it would be a hard day to sell to the guys who just want an ordinary trackday. :dunno:

In the meantime we are still looking fairly quiet for tomorrow so if anyone can bunk a day off and wants to join us you can just turn up and pay on the day - no problem.
