a bud if mine just returned from the ring and said they are getting hot with the noise thing

he's getting his exhaust changed for his next trip

its getting tough

but again if your cars tip top and doesn't look like it was built using browm paper and a knife and fork you'll be fine

You won´t have a problem Bruce, don´t worry.

There might be other things on your beast though that could cause "inconvenience".

Plenty of 33 gts's this weekend guys, but it was silly-season, never seen such congestion there before, probably explains why there were so many fresh bits of armco bought this weekend.....

Does anybody know why the KTM X-Bow wasnt let on (looked the pips in white!)??

Latest is, the bonnet catch issue seems vague at best. SOME cars are being allowed on with tape over them. Others are not.

People suspected of charging for pax laps, usually because they've been seen with a few different pax, are definitely getting banned.

Don't try and go out in convoy. Try to keep a few cars between you at the barriers. Convoy drivers are being banned.

The problem is folks, you have no right of appeal. They will ban you without discussion. If you get the arse, they call the Police.

I know you guys have a trip planned soon, so be careful.

I just found this information

I'm going to keep this totally factual.

Over this weekend I have seen some of the most mis-guided and overly-zealous marshalling ever. And hardly any of it was to do with safety.

1) A friend in his Civic Type-R took TWO different passengers; dragged into the office and told he was a taxi, they knew this, and he could only drive on his own.

2) One of our rental customers in a Clio, split between three guys, is dragged out of the car to the office. It's his first (and last) visit to the track. He's told that 'they know' he works for Ron Simons and 'they know' he's an instructor. Banned from sitting next to anybody all day. The guy was a total ring novice and wasn't allowed to sit next to his more experienced mates the whole day.

3) Al!

4) Three of our rental cars end up in line astern formation before the barrier, purely random. Barrier closed. Marshalls take drivers out, to office for bollocking. 'We know you are convoy driving! Who is the instructor?'

It would be laughable, except they're actually ruining people's weekends now.

bit more

There was some issue with a green mega race spec 911 Turbo on Saturday, possibly due to some fluid spill issues.

The "over zealous" marshals appeared to be overly zealous with 6 or 7 standing guarding the car and trying to look menacing until the police arrived.

One of the marshals looked new, and he appeared to be very angry

he did have ginger hair though.

Anyway, the police arrived, then more police, then finally a right evil looking policeman, in full army gear with a sh*tty old Mondeo Estate.

They then continued discussions with the Porsche owner/interpreter and tried to scare the crowds away.

Dale Lomas, who Toastie has quoted in his last two posts, and who works for RSR, has now been banned for pax laps!

I think there's a bigger picture with regard to RSR, but you still need to be careful in my opinion.

Training and charging for pax laps is not allowed unless you pay the Ring GMBH for the privilege. RSR seem to be in their bad books at the moment, which explains their predicament, but it doesn't explain why they are also banning the public.

I don't think it's a massive issue - I had no trouble at all the other week - but you need to bear it all in mind because they can ruin your weekend. It's a long way to go just to get banned for something that you're innocent of.

The problem with the ring is its now "all about the money making" in the past year new fencing has been put up, new signs the lap passes and if you go to the new casino, hotel and rollercoaster they are really selling the place.

The track on open days is not a race track however to the germans the autoban. Was there about two months ago with mates and the track was constantly being closed due to accidents and so easy done as well although lots of porker GT3's caged up and folk wearing racing helmets etc.

As for taking passengers they dont want to see people taxi as they have the ring taxi's for this its like a years waiting list and the two BMW's are constantly flying round track.

They are really strict on cars who drop oil so before you go make sure you have no leaks give the underside a good wash and monitor your fluid levels do this before you leave the hotel in the morning as well. If your seen looking under your car loads at the track it will only attract attention. A lot of bike accidents are due to spilt fluids if you notice you might be dropping some while going round pull over and check your motor out. If you dont and cause an accident you are held liable remember there are guys everywhere taking photos and the report back to HQ if they see anything around the track.

Oh and if your looking for a jet wash (not a drive in car wash) as you will want your motor looking tip top plus it will be covered in flies with the drive across. We have driven everywhere and finaly found one it looks far away on the map but it isnt far from the track.

You need to go to "barweiler" bottom left of this link.

You will see in this link a garage on the left hand side of the road. As you approach the petrol station there is a carwash on the left drive in here and right ahead of you in the trees is an amazingly powerfull jetwash its basic just a lance so take a spong and soap/bucket and 1 euro's :)
