Cheap induction kits ?

Has anyone tried any of the cheaper induction kits that are around ?

I've always used the popular types, Apexi, Trust, HKS etc, but I find it hard to believe that they are really worth the cost. I know that often cheap = rubbish, but I also know that that is not always the case, sometimes we are just being ripped off because everyone is willing to pay for a name.

Blitz SUS Type LM is what I use on mine right now. Cost me £60 brand new, great filter.
£59.99 delivered for one of our own Conceptua K&N filter kits. Not Japanese, but excellent K&N Quality....
Got a K&N on mine.
Got it from conceptua think it was about £60.00.
mine has the generic stage 1 chip fitted and made 311 bhp. It works well and is cleanable. I would recomend.
Jono.

How does your new one work compared to your old HKS that I have now? Any noticeable difference? Any particular reason why you went for the Blitz? Would love to know as haven't tried the Blitz one yet.
I always go for blitz or apexi.. Best filters out there :)

It's definitely less noisy than the HKS, it sounds like the Apexi. It has a softer filter than the apexi and it's slightly bigger as well. Filtration wise I haven't removed it to check yet and I've done very few miles since I fitted it so no idea. I just fancied a change mate and I'm coulour-coding my engine bay white/blue, so the green had to go ;)
Thanks for sharing Stav! Just wanted to know what exactly difference was between them. Personally love the HKS. It's big, very free flowing and best sound you can get. Had it on my R34 before and loved it. But bought an APEXi power intake as people been raving about them, so thought I'd give it a try. Seems to be good, defo better filtration than the HKS. But downside is not as free flowing as the HKS and defo not as good sound wise. The HKS will be my track kit now. Don't wanna use it all the time as it does let quite a bit of dirft through, tested that, so this is the best combo for me.
I was just going to say the best and cheapest (by far) induction system is the stock one. :)

RXXXIV, surely the track is where you need the good filter?
Focus is on freeflowing when being on track. At least for me. Filtration is not that important as I´m not doing track work every day or lots of miles. So if a slight bit of dust enters it, it´s not gonna become an issue. Also people seem to think that the HKS does not filter at all which simply isn´t true. I´ve been running the HKS for 2 years on my Skyline, road and track, no extra induction kit for swapping, and all was fine. After a couple of months the AFM got little dusty but that´s it.

:iagree: Exactly the same bud
From various test, Metal gauze filters flow most, followed by foam and third paper.

Obviously the more they flow the more power they make.

I currently run a ebay £9.99 paper one, not had any probs with it, would rather have a named one like the Conceptua one though.
Is the k&n one from conceptua a 'wet' type filter?if so wont that clog up the afm?
