Guys, thanks for the feedback. Nothing has been said that I don't agree with, and you will see all that functionality reappear. At 3am this morning, I was happy the forum was in a working state, let alone have all the little mods which make it nice. And yes, the viewing of posts is pants. I'll be fixing that so it is the same a previously!

Thanks again for the support.

To be honest I thought the old style forum was brilliant. Easy to read and follow, easy(ish) to navigate, the only things that let it down was the basic chat room and the bloody Gallery. In my opinion this version is a lot more diffucult to follow and read, and does not appear so smooth. Deffinatly agree with pope on the view new posts thing at the bottom of the page. Will take a lot of getting used too.

Is nice to see that this forum/club is always trying to improve and move on instead of staying with the same old same old though.

The "View New Posts" and "Mark Forums as Read" options are back ;)

As far as fluency when reading, I agree. I will be working with the new software to improve on this. Unfortunately, upgrading the software is a necessity rather than a luxary. If we don't upgrade the database will become outdated, and upgrading in the future will be nigh on impossible assuming you want to keep the wealth of information that current exists on the site.

It's all for the greater good you know! :D

MArtin, I find the site fairly easy to navigate now, not sure what it was like earlier, but now it seems cool. 8)The links for IM's etc are a nice touch and add a bit more class to the site... Will have a bit more of a play (ooooer missus) and let you know what I find (if anything).. Top Job..

SDU and GTR Reg both use an old version of the forum software. Eventually they will have to update too because support for the old software will be discontinued. At that time, they will have to make a choice. Keep unsupported software or update to the new software. I've taken that step now.

However, once I'm done I think you'll find it will be very much like the old forum.
