After a quick a/c check at a local specialist it was confirmed that my compressor wasn't kicking in. They suggested a few possible causes, the main suspect being the a/c fuse. Obviously with a fuse box labelled in Japanese it's a bit tricky to guess which one's for the a/c.

Thanks to the search facility on here throwing up this thread I found out which is the fuse for the a/c

Actually putting a fuse in (the previous owner clearly didn't like the cold) means that I now have a/c actually works now!

Thanks to AndyP for posting on that thread I'm now driving nice and cool.

I've been on here a while and even though don't actually post a lot I know what a good place it is to visit and it's nice to be able to show that I appreciate the time and effort lots of people put in.
