Got the beastie back from the farm yesterday. ATH readings are:

404bhp @ 6800rpm, 347ft/lb @ 4000rpm, 1.3 bar.

Everything is noticably smoother.

Torque graph is making for line rather than curve.

Bring on the cams (next year!) :D

Fantastic results!! Is that 404 at the wheels?
Remind me not to try to keep up with you if I see you about West Sussex.... :drivin:
I won't ask how much it's cost you to get this much power but I will ask what you've had done??????

This visit was....

New N1 engine with denso iridium plugs, tomei sump baffle kit, 1.0mm metal head gasket.
HKS GD Max clutch
A'PEXi GT intercooler & hard pipe kit
HKS F-Con S
Abbey/Nissan R33 gearbox upgrade
HKS Circle earth kit
Nismo braided brake hoses & Cusco master cylinder brace
HKS turbo actuators
Tomei turbo elbows, fuel pump, regulator & 600cc injectors
HKS Silent Hi-power exhaust

And new pipes, wets, sundries etc. (Farris - ATH = At The Hubs. Abbey Motorsports dynapack.)

The above bits are beautifully bolted on to:

Mine's VX-ROM ECU, HKS EVC IV, stock turbos with steel internals & 360 degree thrust bearings, HKS downpipes, nismo solid shift, tomei metal inlet & turbo gaskets.

Hi

And I quote...

"stock turbos with steel internals & 360 degree thrust bearings..."

"...600cc injectors"

:D

Not bad for the entry level turbo upgrade, eh what?

Lovely result! All that on standard cams too! Do you have any readings for lower boost so that I can get an idea how much difference 1.3 bar makes? I'm running stock R34 turbos @1.15 bar in my 33 and can't go any higher because they're still on ceramic internals.

> Abbey/Nissan R33 gearbox upgrade

What's this, a synchro fix?

> HKS Circle earth kit

What's that?

Details

The gearbox upgrade is the Nissan anti-synchro refresh, plus some Abbey specified improvements, plus all the prep work for the OS Giken close ratio gear kit, (just in case I get another couple of grand lying about needing something to be spent on. :D )

The circle earth kit is, as far as my limited understanding goes, adding more & better earth points to bring harmony to your current.

At 1.2 bar, prior to the new engine etc, the car gave 358bhp & 309 ft/lb, and all that has really been added (as opposed to replaced) since then is raising the boost by 0.1 bar, Tomei turbo elbows, sorting the fuelling with the HKS F-Con S & the new intercooler.

You'll have a better response & flow with the R34 units, but I think your peak efficiency is still only either 1.3 or 1.4 bar. Get them steeled, or stump up a couple of grand for full on N1 units.

Do you know how much the car achieved at 1 bar ?

Wow, so you gained 46bhp @ hubs with the intercooler, elbows, map and +0.1 bar? Actually I can believe that - when I went from a stock UK ECU to an FCon-S I gained 26bhp by that alone.

I'm trying to think what else I can do (without spending a fortune) to give me more grunt without losing the excellent low down response that my car now has. You may be interested to know that I gained 17bhp @ hubs when going from an FCon-S to a Pro with no mechanical changes other than the removal of the flow meters (compare red and purple graphs here).

I'm dead impressed you've got over [email protected] on stock cams and stock turbos - mine wasn't going anywhere near that with the stock cams in.

Do you have a readout at lower boost, eg 1.0 bar as well? I'd be interested to see how your 1.0 bar graph compares to my own 1.0 bar graph. Would give me an idea how much benefit 1.3 bar would give.

Do the R34 turbos give better max flow *as well as* better spool up than R33 ones? I had always believed they would but when I had them fitted the top end power was lower than expected. I did have some other things fitted at the same time (elbows, Apexi GT intercooler and pipe kit) and considering all that the power didn't go up much at all although the response was much improved. It's a curious world :wtf:

Was this expensive? My 4th is just starting to give signs now - it crunches when I do a quick change up from 8000rpm in 3rd.

Sounds like you've been meditating in the hills and becoming one with nature and the planet :hippy:
