Right guys, the route will go from Dover to the nurburgring your first nights stay will be in Koblenz on mon 19th July http://www.ibishotel.com/gb/hotel-1831-ibis-koblenz/index.shtml.

Then we will head down to Bern in switzerland for some Swiss Alps road driving and going along the San Bernardino Pass which includes a 6.6km long tunnel. http://www.ibishotel.com/gb/hotel-5007-ibis-bern-expo/index.shtml for tues 20th july

For the 3rd day we will be driving on down to genova via millan, this will give us the chance to keep the women happy (kind of). http://www.ibishotel.com/gb/hotel-1135-ibis-milano-ca-granda/index.shtml for wed 21st july

Heading on for the 4th day we will then be heading to Monaco, and give us the chance to drive the GP circuit. http://www.ibishotel.com/gb/hotel-3724-ibis-nice-centre-notre-dame/index.shtml thurs 22nd july

Rolling onto the 5th day we will be heading upto Millau to go over the almight Millau Via duct bridge (check it out on google) although this will also include the Col De Turini pass. http://www.ibishotel.com/gb/hotel-5613-ibis-millau/index.shtml fri 23rd july

After a night in Millau we then head north to tours for just some good old open road driving and mile munching.http://www.ibishotel.com/gb/hotel-0684-ibis-tours-nord/index.shtml sat 24th july

Then from tours i thought we could head to St Malo for a day on the coast but going via Le Mans to keep the petrol head in all of us happy. http://www.ibishotel.com/gb/hotel-0728-ibis-saint-malo-la-madeleine/index.shtml sun 25th july

Then its a case of leaving St Malo and a drive along the coast up to Dunkirk.

Now the costs for accommodation and ferry will be ABOUT £550 per couple based on two people sharing twin/double rooms.

I would also suggest budgeting for about 10 tanks of fuel as its about 2000mile trip.

The only other costs will be food and drink.

Now I've set it up so you can literally click on the hotel links and book the rooms you require, as for the ferry that will have to be through me as i've got a trade discount, at the moment its £36 per car with 2 passengers.

Sounds awesome Bruce!!!

In fact me and Aphrodite have been planning on doing a trip to Monaco with the Skyline anyway, so this really comes in handy. :)

Will the trip be 100% in july??? Need to know because we have big plans next year... ;)

Bruce,

I've been looking into this for years. Albeit, the reverse route and a couple of detours.

Unless you want a Gumball type event, that's a lot of driving for 6 days. It's doable, sure, but hard work. I was aiming for a more relaxed 10 days.

I think 10 tanks of fuel is optimistic too. Budget for 15 at least. Don't forget the 2k miles doesn't include UK miles for those that have to get to Dover.

It'll be a blast whatever.

Doubt I'll be doing my trip in 2010 now 'cos I'm going to Canada for a huge Motorbike Rally.

Its not all set in stone yet, i'm still looking to maybe tweek it yet, i don't really want the trip to go over 1 week, but i will keep every section to a max of 300 miles per day.

10 tanks is a rough guess, some will do it on less, some on more, i get a good 300 miles to a tank and use 6 tanks for a total 1200 miles door to door driving to the ring and back with a good couple of laps in that.

The main thing is its fun, which whatever happens i'm sure it will be.

Bruce I agree keeping it to a week would be intense but a good idea, as I may be getting a baby sitter and wont want to leave the kids for longer than that. I have got a couple friends interested in jumping in the car with me too but wont know until closer to the time. I am happy to go along with any route you decide upon. If its all crusing driving I shall get around about 300 miles to my tank too
