I have not tried this yet as I am at work, but I will be giving it a go as soon as I get home. :)

Have you locked your keys in the car? Does you car have remote keys? This may come in handy someday. Good reason to own a mobile phone: If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home, call someone at home on their mobile phone from your mobile. Hold your phone about a foot from your car door and have the person at your home press the unlock button, holding it near the mobile phone on their end. Your car will unlock. Saves someone from having to drive your keys to you. Distance is no object. You could be hundreds of miles away, and if you can reach someone who has the other "remote" for your car, you can unlock the doors.

Might come in useful.

EDIT: Hang on though... how did you manage to lock the keys in the car if it has a remote opener, the car cant lock itself. maybe a load of 5hite, I am still going to try though

Surely not??

On a similar vain though, could have come in handy for me last night. Got out the car with load of bags, banged my hand on the door, dropped my keys onto the kerb - or so i thought for a minute until i heard a plop. Bugger - down a drain!

Luckily after calming down, pushing the car clear, prising up the cover and assessing the situation properly by torchlight they were only a few feet down and managed to get them with a trusty wire coathanger! :boogy:

hmmmm

I wonder if you record it as a sound clip on your phone and try it..........

Could be a handy fall back? As if there's no one in to get your spare keys for you?

Me and my old boss tried this on his x type jag and it worked. He was only about a mile away but the remote was definatly out of range.
