i have brought a vems air/fuel ratio set up and it says the egt sensor has to be monted in the center of the exhaust manifold before the turbo, but that manifold is cast iron and will be hard to make a tread in it.
also when i drill the hole ill get swaf fall into the turbo so will have to come off, but can you get the turbo off and leave the manifold on or is it best to take it all off ?
any one fancey doing it for me?
remove the manifold and fit the egt sensor and then refit the manifold and turbo.
im 5min from luton.
(im scared) lol.

i fitted mine to the down pipe (circled in red)

a lot less hastle and it cant be that much cooler sitting there:devil:

The reason it needs to be in the manifold it to detect detonation, putting it in the downpipe will be a different temp and probably too late to detect any abnormal temp spikes
