Well was all happy today making progress on my car and came across this:

This kinda killed my buzz! Every time I get somewhere something else goes wrong :-( How do u think this happened? Im not really sure what all the crap around the hole is (no pun intended lol.)
Does anyone think I can get that welded up? Or am I gonna have to buy a new one? Cheers

i would replace it rather than weld, the little bits around the hole look like they would have been where that hole is now,no idea how you could have got it hot enough to do that though, must have had a small pinhole in the metal
Yea true, thanks for that, ill be taking it in to mechanic next so ill see what he says also. Think I might buy a screamer :)
Looks loke someone had fitted another sensor there and removed it and the weld didn't hold or they didn't do it properly.

New one definately.

Don't go screamer unless you've got the external wastegate to fit it to.

Looks like that , abit too round to be caused by anything else.

Those screamer pipes can be hard to seal right, usually sound like a tractor on tick over.
You'd pick up a stock rb25det elbow for a few $$ ,will do the job :bigthumb:
I had this exact screamer pipe and it didn't seal correctly and the waste gate penny got stuck all the time, I removed it but two of the bolts snapped and I ended up getting another turbo,
I have a standard elbow down the garage you can have for free if you pay for postage bud, the std item is fine for 400 bhp at least, I only opted for a HKS item as I replace the turbo anyway, the screamers do sound like a blowing tractor if they are not sealed correctly.
