Evening chaps and chappettes,

I put my car on Gumtree last week, priced a little high not really wanting to sell it but thinking if I'm offered the asking price I'm not going to turn it down.

I've since had text and now Facebook conversations from a guy in Italy who says he's going to fly over next week and pay the asking price.

Having checked his Facebook profile he seems legit, seemingly buying a few UK cars over the last couple of years, and he has also sent me pictures of his jet2 boarding pass and ferry booking back with my reg. He did also offer to pay a deposit which I declined airing on the side of caution not wanting to give financial details out,

Has anyone else had a similar experience or is this too good to be true? It's frustrating because I'm now shopping for a replacement incase it is legit, but at the same time wondering if I'm jumping the gun and getting my hopes up.

A lot of these are scams but......I sold my Lexus ls400 V8 to a guy from Holland.I collected him from the airport in the car, went for a test drive,he paid in GBP & left, text me 24 hrs later to say he'd arrived home.
Don't take a deposit & make sure he pays in pounds in cash on the day.

pick him up and if he is happy take him to your bank and deposit the cash there and then ask the cashier to do a check while counting, ive sold a few cars over to germany and spain and tbh id prefer it as ive never had one bit of hassle and always get my asking price, the last number of years europeans are really catching on to the jap scene and there is some amount of cars going to mainland europe. if he has flew all the way from italy then its 99% certain all is legit...i have never sent bank details just do it at face value and you will be ok.
