Finally got around to installing my new front mount intercooler. Sorry for the Cell phone picture quality

Here it is, with the box mounts I made for the top and bottom. I ended up scraping the bottom one and using the original mounting points instead

shot of the mount with the hole to access the bolt with a socket.

Front end off and new pipes installed up top. These will need to get a vacuum line nipple welded to it this week. I also hate the blue cupplers they gave with the kit, I will be replacing them with black over the winter.

mocking up where to mount this thing, I also had to remove the stock fan which i'm replacing with a slim fan.

more mock up

and mounted. Now I have to cut 2 of the pipes down and go over to the shop to get the ends beaded. I should have this done by this week I hope, some trimming of the bumper is also going to be needed.

Some more pics from my install. This took longer then I wanted, but I wanted it to be perfect.

After having to cut some of the piping, I needed to put a bead on the end,

Soooo I made this

and got this as a result

Finally Done

And A shot I took yesterday.

Very nice, where did you get this kit?

Its exactly what I'm looking for.

Did you notice any increase in turbo lag with the stock turbo?

Its the RB25DET kit from godspeed. I got it online. Lots of places sell it so its best to searcg for the best price. As for lag, i noticed the lag is les ls and second gear feels amazing. Its a lot more responsive now.

Indeed, brilliant. :)

I assume you fitted the actuator pipe nipple on the hot side of the intercooler, as close to the turbo as possible?
Actually after finally finishing everything down below, I found out that no matter what position I put the upper pipes in they got in the way of the air filter, there was absolutely no way for them to work without getting in the way, so I ended up using the stock piping up top, so the pipe nipple is as close as NISSAN made it LOL.

The kit is a great kit, but I think it's more leaned towards the S-13 S-14 with a RB25DET in it. This was by far not a bolt in. AT ALL hahahah.

When I do get a chance though I will be trying to fit the pipes in there even if I have to do some cutting and welding. It would look so much better then the stock piping after all that work.

Yeah, but Nissan fitted an intercooler about an eighth the size, so the volume of air between turbo and actuator feed was a lot less than it is now. So it'd still have spiked, just nowhere near as much as it will now. Nissan should have known better and simply fitted the actuator feed in the turbo housing, where it's actually supposed to be in the first place.
