for not a lot of money you could get a small control panel (4zone) 1 pir,and 2 contacts(if youve got a side door, outsde bell,a drum of 4 core cable and youv got a real system
I think you may be better off getting some better/extra locks on your door/doors to be honest mate.
ive thought about all sorts but unsure whats the best to go for.

All we have is a garage door there aint any other doors apart from that.
i did see some keypad ones on ebay too.

how much would a good alarm be?
Have you got an alarm on your house? If so you may be able to link up to that.

yep got one on the house, wouldnt know where to start about rigging it up to the house .
You'd be better off with a wired system coz then uve got peace of mind. I.e. No batteries to run out, no false alarms due to interference with wireless signal. If ur garage is joined to ur house then it's no problem(providing u hav a spare zone on ur alarm) to take a cable to the garage and get It sorted. I'm not too far away if u need any help
Take out the fuel pump fuse at night.

Between that, an immobiliser, etc etc... I doubt it's going anywhere ;)

Our garage aint joined to the house, im not to sure if i have a spare bit oin the current alarm system either as its a new house and the alarm was already fitted and set up.

think the only option is to go for a system on its own.
Mate do you have electricity in your garage? If your in no rush and not to botherd what it looks like then i may come a cross something for you when working.
